As a child, both my curiosity and my sensibility to light, shape and color led me to develop a keen interest in artistic activities. Thus, with my mother’s encouragement, I have gotten into the habit of playing freely with all the materials I can get my hands on—be they water, paint, clay, automatic drawing, collage or paper cutting. Reading children’s books by authors such as Eric Carle, Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake, Tony Ross, Tomi Ungerer, Maurice Sendak, Babette Cole or Astrid Lindgren as well as visiting exhibitions and watching performances and movies also nurtured my perception and practice of the visual arts.

During several summers in New York, I had the opportunity to study ceramics and sculpture under Yasumitsu Morito’s teaching and lithography under Michael Pellettieri’s teaching at the Art Students League of New York. To this day, I have kept on doing sculpture and modeling at the Association des Artistes Lorrains in Nancy. In 2023, I had the chance to participate in a sculpture group exhibition based on American artist Edward Hopper’s paintings.
