As a child, both my curiosity and my sensibility to light, shape, and color led me to develop a keen interest in artistic activities. Thus, with my mother’s encouragement, I took up the habit of playing freely with mixed media—including water, paint, watercolor, pastel, and clay—and different techniques—including automatic drawing and collage. Reading children’s books by authors such as Eric Carle, Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake, Tony Ross, Tomi Ungerer, Maurice Sendak, Babette Cole or Astrid Lindgren, visiting exhibitions, and watching performances as well as movies also nurtured my understanding and practice of the visual arts.
During several summers in New York, I had the opportunity to study sculpture and ceramics under Yasumitsu Morito’s teaching and lithography under Michael Pellettieri’s teaching at the Art Students League of New York. Up until May 2024, I maintained my practice of sculpture at the Association des Artistes Lorrains in Nancy. In 2023, I had the chance to participate in a sculpture group exhibition based on American artist Edward Hopper’s paintings.
